Dear Colleagues,
The International Cardiac Pacing and Electrophysiology Society is organising its 14th Congress in Athens, Greece, during 11-14 December, 2011.
More than 300 distinguished specialists in our field will make up the faculty of the conference. We hope that thousands of participants will meet in the historic city of Athens.
Our Society has a tradition of organising successful congresses. Especially in recent years, it has been recognised more and more that this global scientific body can and should play a more energetic federal role, bringing closer together the people and societies that are active in our area of knowledge.
This joining of forces is essential if we are to develop and implement, at a more international level, the projects needed in the battle to improve the quality of life of patients with arrhythmias and to limit the incidence of sudden cardiac death.
In the bustling city of Athens, our forthcoming Congress will provide the opportunity for meeting, communication, and productive collaboration.
We hope you will all be there.
With sincere best regards,
Prof. Massimo Santini

Dear Colleagues,
It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the 14th World Congress of Arrhythmia in Athens, Greece on 11-14 December 2011. It is a quadrennial scientific session organized by the World Society of Arrhythmias (WSA) previously ICPES.
As immediate Past President of WSA and Secretary General for the World Congress in 2003 in Hong Kong, I can testify that this event will always be highly scientific and in addition, will act as an important forum for academic and social interchange between arrhythmia experts worldwide.
Under the leadership of Dr. Panos Vardas, Secretary General, and Dr. Massimo Santini, President of the WSA, I am proud to announce that a comprehensive program on arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, ablation, CRM devices, cardiac resynchronization therapy and syncope & TLOC has been developed. I am also glad to see the unfailing support from a group of world-renowned cardiologists and experts, providing an excellent opportunity for participants to exchange professional knowledge and experience regarding the latest advances in cardiovascular medicine.
Athens Greece has always attracted people's attention and the 2004 Olympic Games bore witness to that. I am confident that World Congress of Arrhythmia in Athens will be another great success. For those overseas delegates, don't forget to enjoy the city and the famous Acropolis, one of the seven wonders of the World!
I wish the event every success and hope that participants will find it a rewarding experience.
Best wishes,
Chu-Pak Lau

Dear Colleagues,
This Symposium of the newly named World Society of Arrhythmias is planned to be a World Symposium which brings the World to the World. The aim being that experts in the field from all parts of the World come and explain what is different about the Arrhythmology that they face.
It is hoped that we can all learn from this and apply these thoughts to our own patients and any that we may see from other parts of the World.
The second very important aspect of this World Symposium is to place before all the attendees a wide and full exposure of current practice of Electrophysiology. To this end experts on all fields of our endeavour will be invited from North and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia to convey the latest in technology and practice.
With the benefit of these two approaches it is anticipated that the Symposium will provide the latest in medical science of Arrhythmology and the best possible learning experience for all.
With this message I hope to welcome you all in Athens in December 2011.
Best regards,
Richard Sutton
